Praise the Lord. Sister Rita asked me to write a little something about my mom, Sister Yolanda N. Alcantar. I started to write something a few days ago but even after 7 years of her passing away I can't talk about her without breaking down in tears. My mother was a great woman of faith, she could run circles around the young sister's. When she told us (the family) that she had breast cancer it was so hard for me to deal with. I didn't understand why God would allow this, of course at the time I was not serving God so I didn't know him I only knew of Him. Through her fight against cancer I never saw her lose her faith. I'm going to close for now because well, because I'm crying like a big baby so let me close with this. Sister's find strength not only in God but in your families maybe they do not have the faith that you have but understand when you have cancer the whole family has cancer. My mother left me the greatest legacy and that is being a child of God. I now know that her work was done here on earth and that is why God called her home. I wish she could see me now, she would be proud even though I stumble I am still seeking God and it's because of my mother's prayers that I have found favor in God's eyes. If I could be half the woman she was, I will have accomplished my life's goal.

I have been asking God to use me, that I didn't want to work anymore. I wanted to work for him to be a vessel that he can use. For him to use my voice, my hands, my arms, my feet, my mind and my heart. I wanted to be able to show everyone how much he love us no matter what is going on. My Lord has been so good to me and has given me so much especially this attitude which he put in me since as far as I can remember, and I guess he did it for me to share with you. In mid April during the night I had a very vivid dream that Jesus reached down into my stomach and pulled a big mass of flesh from me. That woke me up and I asked the Lord what is going on and what does this mean. For almost a year I thought that I was going through menopause and I was spotting quite a bit. In the first week of May while I was taking a shower I started bleeding profusely and I got scared. One of my Sisters from the church told me this is enough from you I am taking you to Moreno Valley, county hospital. Yes you guessed it I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. I don't know what I am suppose to feel but I feel great, no pain and I am holding on to the dream the Lord gave me. I know that he has healed me and I want to thank him. I have too much to talk about and could write a book so I better close now. If this helps anyone let me know, Hope this is OK Sister Rita and I hope your right and it helps.
